DESCRIPTION
Starting and finishing at the Rapha Melbourne Clubhouse on Guildford Lane, this route mirrors The LoOp 25 / Alby’s 250, a well-known long-distance loop traditionally ridden during the Rapha500 period.

Covering approximately 250 kilometres with around 4,400 metres of climbing, The LoOp 25 is as much a mental challenge as it is a physical one. The combination of distance, varied terrain, and sustained elevation gain makes it best suited to experienced riders looking to test their endurance on predominantly paved roads, with occasional gravel sections.

The route heads east to escape the city before winding through St Andrews, Yarra Glen, and Healesville, then tackles the long climb up Mt Donna Buang. A fast descent drops you into Warburton, followed by a zig-zagging run toward the Dandenongs and the climb to Sassafras, descending the 1 in 20 before the final run into town.
NOTES
There is approximately 30km of champagne gravel (compacted not loose at all) in this route. Caution is advised when descending on gravel or cornering.

This course can be achieved on a standard road bike without the need for gravel specific tyres or equipment.

Caution is again advised when descending and cornering on gravel.
